Chris ‘excited’ to continue driving growth after Commercial Manager promotion

Our new Commercial Manager Chris Fleet said he is ‘excited’ to continue contributing to SEH French’s growth after his recent promotion. 

Chris, who joined the business in 2016, had previously worked for us as a Senior Surveyor before his promotion on September 1.

His new role will see him continue working on major projects – including Fore Hamlet and Felixstowe Ferry – while taking on more of a leading role in both surveying and tendering.

“It’s a great feeling,” he said. “It was first discussed a few months ago and to now make it official is brilliant.

“I’m taking on more of an overarching role in surveying – I’ll still be hands-on and working on my own projects, but a lot of my work will also be done in the office working on things at the pre-tender stage.

“I’ll also be supporting our trainees too and helping them progress through the business, which is a really rewarding role.”

Chris added the creation of his new role is a sign of our continued growth as a business, as we look to expand our services further throughout the region.

“I’ve been at SEH French for 9 years now,” he said. “I’d previously worked for a Tier 1 construction firm but was looking to come back home to Ipswich and work for a local contractor.

“It’s a great business with a great atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of one another and it makes for a really nice place to work. 

“This promotion isn’t just a positive thing for me – it’s a good sign of how well things are progressing in the business, too. 

“We’ve seen so much growth in recent years and I’m excited to play my part in seeing that rise continue.”
